Materials Needed
- Worsted weight cotton yarn in beige
- Crochet hook size 4.0 mm (G)
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Abbreviations
- ch - chain
- sl st - slip stitch
- sc - single crochet
- dc - double crochet
Instructions
Base Circle
- Begin with a magic circle, ch 3 (counts as dc), 11 dc in the circle, sl st to top of ch 3 to join. (12 dc)
- Ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in each st around, sl st to top of ch 3. (24 dc)
- Ch 4 (counts as dc, ch 1), *(dc in next st, ch 1), repeat from * around, sl st to 3rd ch of starting ch 4. (24 dc, 24 ch spaces)
Lace Pattern
- Ch 4, dc in next dc, ch 1, dc in next ch space, ch 1*, repeat from * around, sl st to top of ch 4.
- Ch 5, *(dc in dc, ch 2, dc in next dc), repeat from * around, sl st to 3rd ch of starting ch 5.
- Ch 4, dc in 2nd ch space, ch 1, dc in dc, ch 1*, repeat from * around, sl st to top of ch 4.
- Repeat rounds 4-6 until piece measures approximately 5 inches in diameter.
Finishing
- Ch 1, sc in each st around to create a firm edge, fasten off.
- Create a chain long enough to wrap around the bun and tie a bow (approximately 18 inches), weave through last row of dcs.
Weaving in Ends
- Use the tapestry needle to weave in all ends securely.
