Crochet Elegant Draped Cozy Cardigan

Materials Needed:

• Chunky weight yarn (approx. 800-1000 yards)
• Size N/13 (9 mm) crochet hook
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle
• Measuring tape

Gauge: 8 stitches and 6 rows = 4 inches in double crochet

Instructions:

1. Back Panel:
   • Chain 80 (or preferred width).
   • Row 1: Double crochet (dc) in 4th ch from hook, dc in each ch across. (Total: 78 dc)
   • Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), turn, dc in next dc, *(ch 1, skip next st, dc in next st); repeat from * across. (You will have chain spaces in between the dcs)
   • Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 28 inches in length.
2. Front Panels: (Make 2)
   • Chain 50 (or preferred width).
   • Row 1: Double crochet in 4th ch from hook, dc in each ch across. (Total: 48 dc)
   • Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), turn, dc in next dc, *(ch 1, skip next st, dc in next st); repeat from * across.
   • Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 28 inches in length.
3. Joining:
   • Lay the back panel flat. Position front panels on each side, aligning them with the top of the back panel.
   • Use a slip stitch to attach the front panels to the back panel at the shoulders (about 10 inches down from the top).
   • Optional: Add side pockets by sewing them onto the front panels.
4. Edging:
   • Single crochet (sc) along the edges of the cardigan for a clean finish.

Notes:

• Customize the length by adjusting the number of rows for the back and front panels.
• For a snugger fit, use a smaller hook to adjust the gauge.
