Crochet Durable Stylish Scrubbie Caddy

Materials Needed:

• Medium-weight cotton yarn in your choice of two colors
• H-8 (5mm) crochet hook
• Yarn needle
• Scissors
• 1-2 nylon scrubbies

Gauge:

16 stitches = 4 inches in single crochet

Instructions:

Base:

1. Chain 12.
2. Single crochet in the second chain from the hook and in each chain across (11 sc).
3. Chain 1, turn. Single crochet in each sc across (11 sc).
4. Repeat until your piece measures 5 inches long. Finish off.

Body:

1. Join yarn to one end of the base.
2. Chain 1 and single crochet in each stitch around (11 sc).
3. In the next round, *single crochet in next 2 stitches, increase in next stitch*; repeat from * around (15 sc).
4. Continue to increase every other row until the caddy reaches a height of 5 inches, finishing with a round of single crochet.

Top Edge:

1. To create a rolled top, chain 1 and single crochet in each stitch for 2 rounds.
2. Finish off and weave in ends.

Handles:

1. Using a contrasting color yarn, chain 20.
2. Slip stitch back into the last chain to create a loop.
3. Attach the handle to the caddy by stitching it securely to opposite sides.
4. Repeat for the second handle.

Finishing:

Place your nylon scrubbies inside the caddy and display it in your kitchen!
