Materials:

• Sport weight cotton yarn
• Hook size 3.5 mm (E)
• Stitch marker
• Button (optional)
• Yarn needle

Size: 0-6 months (adjustable)

Gauge: 20 stitches x 24 rows = 4 inches in single crochet

Stitches Used:

• Chain (ch)
• Slip stitch (sl st)
• Single crochet (sc)
• Double crochet (dc)
• Half double crochet (hdc)
• Shell stitch

Instructions:

Sandals Base

1. Ch 12.
2. Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and across (11 sc), turn.
3. Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each st across (11 sc), turn.
4. Row 3-10: Repeat Row 2.
5. Row 11: Ch 1, sc in each st, Turn.
6. Row 12: In the last sc, ch 8 (this is your strap), sl st back into the base, finish off.

Floral Motif

• Using a different color, start with a magic ring.
• Round 1: Ch 2 (counts as 1 dc), 11 dc in ring, pull ring tight, sl st to first dc.
• Round 2: Ch 3, dc in same st, *ch 1, 2 dc in next st*, repeat from * to * around, sl st to top of ch 3.
• Finish off and leave a long tail for sewing.
• Make 2 floral motifs.

Assembly

1. Attach the floral motifs to the front of the sandal base with a yarn needle.
2. For the ankle strap, make a chain of 15 to adjust the length and attach securely to the back of the sandal.
3. Add a button if desired for extra security.
