Crochet Cozy Textured Poncho with Cape Collar

Materials:

• Worsted weight yarn (approximately 800 yards)

Size:

This poncho can be adjusted by increasing or decreasing the foundation chain. The standard size fits most adults.

Instructions:

1. Foundation Chain: Ch 80 (or desired length for size adjustment).
2. Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in each ch across. (78 dc)
3. Row 2: Ch 3, turn. Dc in first dc, *sk 1 dc, 2 dc in next dc; repeat from * across, ending with 1 dc in the last dc. (Total of 117 stitches including chains)
4. Row 3: Ch 3, turn. Dc in each dc across. (117 dc)
5. Row 4: Repeat Row 2.
6. Continue repeating Rows 3 and 4 until you reach about 25 inches in length.
7. Trimming: With the right side facing, make a border of slip stitches around the entire poncho for a finished look.
8. Cape Collar: At the top edge of the poncho, ch 40 and attach with a slip stitch to the side to create the collar. Repeat for the other side. You can adjust the size of the collar by chaining more or fewer stitches.
9. Finishing: Weave in all ends and block the poncho if necessary.
