Crochet Cozy Textured Harvest Motif Pillow

Materials:

• Worsted weight yarn in three colors: Rust, Cream, and Brown (approx. 200 yards each)
• Size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook
• Fiberfill pillow insert (16" x 16")
• Yarn needle
• Scissors

Stitches Used:

• Chain (ch)
• Slip stitch (sl st)
• Single crochet (sc)
• Half double crochet (hdc)
• Double crochet (dc)
• Front post double crochet (FPdc)

Gauge:

10 stitches and 8 rows in half double crochet = 4 inches (10 cm). Adjust hook size if necessary to meet gauge.

Instructions:

Front Motif:

1. With Rust yarn, ch 36. Round 1: 1 dc in 4th ch from hook, {ch 1, skip 1 ch, 1 dc in next ch} repeat to end, sl st to join.
2. Round 2: Change to Cream yarn, {ch 2, 2 dc in ch-1 space, ch 1, 3 dc in next dc} repeat around, sl st to join.
3. Round 3: Change to Brown yarn, *(FPdc around next 2 dc, sc in ch-1 space)* repeat around, sl st to join.
4. Continue this pattern, alternating yarn colors every two rounds until you have 8 rounds. Finish with one round of sl st in Cream.

Back Panel:

1. With Brown, ch 36 and work 20 rows of sc, or until back panel measures approximately 16" wide.
2. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Assembly:

1. Place the front and back panels right sides together and whip stitch around the edges, leaving one side open.
2. Turn the pillow cover right side out, insert the pillow form, and then sew the open edge closed using slip stitches for a neat finish.
