Crochet Colorful Star-Spangled Bunting Banner Free Pattern

Materials:

• 4 ply cotton worsted yarn in Red, White, and Blue
• H/8 (5 mm) crochet hook
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle
• Measuring tape
• Optional: beads or embellishments

Gauge: Not critical for this project but aim for 10 dc = 4 inches

Instructions:

Make the Triangle Flags:

1. With Red yarn, make a chain of 20.
2. Row 1: dc in the 4th chain from the hook, dc in each chain across. (18 dc)
3. Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), turn, skip first dc, dc2tog across to the last 2 stitches, dc in last stitch. (10 dc)
4. Row 3: Repeat the previous row. (5 dc)
5. Row 4: Ch 3, turn, dc in each stitch across. (5 dc)
6. Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

Repeat the above steps to create 3 flags each in White and Blue yarn. You can change the size of the chain for larger or smaller flags.

Assembling the Bunting:

1. Cut a long length of yarn (about 2 meters) for your banner base.
2. Using the tapestry needle, sew each flag onto the yarn, spacing them evenly.
3. Optionally, add beads or embellishments in between each flag for extra flair!
4. Secure all ends and make sure everything is securely attached.
