Materials:

• Soft baby-friendly yarn (approx. 100g)
• Crochet hook (size H/8 or equivalent)
• Yarn needle
• Scissors

Abbreviations:

• ch = chain
• sc = single crochet
• dc = double crochet
• tr = triple crochet
• sl st = slip stitch
• st = stitch

Size: 0-6 months (adjustable)

Instructions:

Booties (make 2)

1. Ch 15, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each across (14 sc).
2. Working in rows, ch 1 and turn. In the next row, sc in each stitch across for 5 rows.
3. Next row, *sc in next 5, dc in next 4, sc in next 5*; repeat from * to * for two more rows.
4. Now for the heel, ch 1 and turn. Sc in next 5, turn (5 sc). Ch 1 and turn. Sc in each of the 5 sc (5). Ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc in next 3, sc2tog (3). Fasten off.
5. For the sole, with the right side facing up, attach your yarn to the front of the bootie. Sc evenly around the sole, working 2 stitches in each corner for rounded edges (approx. 24 sc). Join with sl st to the first sc. Fasten off.

Texture Pattern (for cuff)

1. With the toe at the front, join yarn at the entry point of the bootie.
2. Ch 1, *sc in first, tc in next*; repeat to the end of the row. Join round with sl st.
3. Continue this pattern for 3 more rows or until desired height is reached.
4. Finish with a final row of sc around to give a clean edge.

Embellishment (Optional)

For leaves or pom-poms, use a contrasting color yarn:

• For leaves, ch 5, sc in second ch, hdc in next, dc in last, sl st to base.
• For pom-poms, wrap yarn around 4 fingers, tie in the center, cut at both ends.
