Materials:

• Color A: Soft Orange Yarn (approx. 100 yards)
• Color B: White Yarn (approx. 30 yards)
• Color C: Dark Brown Yarn (for details, approx. 10 yards)
• Hook: Size G (4.0 mm)
• Yarn needle
• Scissors
• Stuffing (optional, for a puffed look)

Stitches Used:

• Chain (ch)
• Single Crochet (sc)
• Half Double Crochet (hdc)
• Slip Stitch (sl st)
• Single Crochet Decrease (sc2tog)

Pattern: (Make 1)

1. Base: With Color A, make a magic ring. Ch 1, 6 sc into the ring. (6)
2. Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch around. (12)
3. Round 3: *1 sc, 2 sc in next* repeat around. (18)
4. Round 4: *2 sc, 2 sc in next* repeat around. (24)
5. Round 5: *3 sc, 2 sc in next* repeat around. (30)
6. Round 6: *4 sc, 2 sc in next* repeat around. (36)
7. Round 7: Sc in each stitch around. (36)
8. Face Shape: Switch to Color B, continue for 3 more rounds. (36)
9. Round 11: Change to Color A, sc in each stitch. (36)
10. Round 12: *5 sc, sc2tog* repeat around. (30)
11. Round 13: *4 sc, sc2tog* repeat around. (24)
12. Round 14: *3 sc, sc2tog* repeat around. (18)
13. Round 15: *2 sc, sc2tog* repeat around. (12)
14. Round 16: *1 sc, sc2tog* repeat around. (6)
15. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Ears (Make 2):

1. With Color A, ch 5, turn.
2. Row 1: hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, 2 hdc in last ch. (5)
3. Row 2: Ch 1, turn. 2 hdc in first st, hdc in next, hdc in last 3. (7)
4. Row 3: Ch 1, turn. Sc in the first 2, sl st in remaining. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Assembly:

1. Sew the ears onto the top of the coaster.
2. Using Color C, embroider eyes and a nose for details.
3. Optionally, stuff slightly for a puffed look!
