Cozy Ribbed Beanie Pattern

Materials

• 4 skeins of mustard-colored worsted weight yarn (approx. 200 yards total)
• US size 8 (5.0 mm) circular knitting needles (16-inch length)
• US size 8 (5.0 mm) double-pointed knitting needles (for decreasing)
• Yarn needle for weaving in ends
• Scissors

Gauge

18 stitches x 24 rows = 4 inches in ribbing pattern (k2, p2)

Abbreviations

• CO - Cast On
• K - Knit
• P - Purl
• St(s) - Stitch(es)
• DK - Double-pointed needles
• BO - Bind Off
• RND - Round

Instructions

1. Cast On: CO 88 stitches using the long-tail cast-on method onto your circular needles.
2. Join in the Round: Being careful not to twist your stitches, join to work in the round.
3. Ribbing: Rnd 1: *K2, P2* repeat from * to * around. Continue this ribbing pattern until your work measures 7 inches from the cast-on edge (approximately 18 rounds).
4. Begin Decreasing: Change to double-pointed needles when necessary.
   • Rnd 1: *K2, P2* until the last 4 sts, K2, P2.
   • Rnd 2: *K1, P1* repeat from * to * around.
5. Continue Decreasing:
   • Rnd 3: *K2tog, P2* repeat around.
   • Rnd 4: *K1, P1* repeat from * to * around.
   • Rnd 5: *K2tog* repeat around.
6. Final Rounds: Cut off a long yarn tail, thread it through the remaining stitches on your needle and pull tight. Secure the yarn and weave in all ends with a yarn needle.
