Cozy Knit Fingerless Mitts Pattern

Materials

• 1 skein of worsted weight yarn, cream color.
• Set of 4.5 mm double-pointed needles (DPNs).
• Yarn needle for weaving in ends.
• Stitch marker.
• Two small buttons for embellishment (optional).

Gauge

10 stitches and 14 rows = 2 inches in ribbing pattern.

Abbreviations

• k - knit
• p - purl
• st(s) - stitch(es)
• rnd - round
• pm - place marker

Instructions

Cuff

1. Cast on 32 sts and join in the round, being careful not to twist. Place marker to mark the beginning of the round.
2. Rnds 1-14: *K2, p2; repeat from * around.

Hand

1. Rnds 15-30: Knit around.
2. Rnd 31: Bind off 5 sts loosely (this will be the thumb hole).
3. Rnd 32: Knit around, and when you reach the thumb hole, cast on 5 sts using backward loop method.
4. Rnds 33-38: *K2, p2; repeat from * around.
5. Bind off: Bind off all sts loosely in pattern.
6. Finishing: Weave in all ends. Sew on the buttons along the bottom ribbing if desired for decoration.

Repeat the entire pattern for the second mitt.
