Whimsical Wave Scarf Pattern
Materials
- 2 skeins of DK weight yarn in two contrasting colors (Color A and Color B)
- US Size 7 (4.5 mm) circular knitting needles
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
- Scissors
Gauge
18 stitches x 24 rows = 4 inches in Wave Stitch pattern, blocked.
Abbreviations
- k = knit
- p = purl
- st(s) = stitch(es)
- k2tog = knit two together
- yo = yarn over
- rep = repeat
Instructions
Cast on 30 stitches using Color A.
Wave Stitch Pattern
Row 1: k1, *yo, k2tog, k1; rep from * to last st, k1. Row 2: purl all stitches. Row 3: k2, *yo, k2tog, k3; rep from * to last 2 sts, k2. Row 4: purl all stitches. Repeat Rows 1-4 until scarf reaches desired length, approximately 70 inches total.
Edging
Switch to Color B.
Row 1: k1, *k2, k2tog; rep from * to end, k1. Row 2: purl all stitches. Repeat these two rows until desired width is achieved (about 5 inches).
Finishing
- Bind off all stitches loosely.
- Weave in ends with a tapestry needle.
