Textured Crochet Scarf Pattern

Materials:

  • Worsted weight yarn (approximately 200-250 yards) in vibrant orange.
  • Size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Tapestry needle for weaving in ends.

Gauge:

10 stitches and 12 rows = 4 inches in pattern. It’s important to check your gauge to ensure the right size.

Abbreviations:

  • ch - chain
  • sc - single crochet
  • dc - double crochet
  • st - stitch
  • sl st - slip stitch
  • RS - right side
  • WS - wrong side

Dimensions:

Approximately 6 inches wide and 60 inches long, but you can adjust the size according to your preference.

Instructions:

  1. Start with the foundation chain: Chain 22. This will be the width of your scarf.
  2. Row 1: Turn your work. In the 2nd chain from the hook, make 1 sc. Continue to make 1 sc in each chain across. You should have 21 sc at the end of this row.
  3. Row 2: Chain 1 and turn your work. In the first st, make 1 sc. In the next st, make 1 dc. Repeat this pattern (1 sc, 1 dc) across the row. You should end with a sc in the last st.
  4. Row 3: Chain 1 and turn your work. This row will have you working in the stitches below: 1 sc in the first sc, (1 dc in the next dc, 1 sc in the next sc) across. End with a sc in the last st.
  5. Repeat Rows 2 and 3: Continue repeating Row 2 and Row 3 until your scarf measures approximately 60 inches from the starting chain.
  6. Finish the Scarf: After reaching your desired length, chain 1 and make a row of sc all the way across for a finished edge. Cut the yarn, leaving a tail long enough to weave in later.
  7. Weaving in Ends: Use the tapestry needle to weave in any loose ends securely.

Thats it!

Your vibrant orange textured scarf is now complete! Wear it to keep warm or gift it to someone special.
