Simple Grey Garter Stitch Scarf Pattern

Materials

  • Yarn: DK weight, 100% wool, in grey (approximately 300 grams or 600 meters)
  • Knitting needles: Size US 8 (5mm)
  • Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
  • Scissors

Gauge

20 stitches and 40 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in garter stitch

Abbreviations

  • CO: Cast On
  • K: Knit
  • BO: Bind Off

Instructions

Size: Approximately 7 inches (18 cm) wide and 60 inches (152 cm) long.

  1. CO 35 stitches.
  2. Row 1: K all stitches.
  3. Continue knitting each row (this is garter stitch) until the scarf measures 60 inches (152 cm) in length, or your desired length.
  4. BO all stitches using the bind off method of your choice, ensuring that the edge is not too tight.
