Cozy Newborn Swaddle Blanket

Materials

  • Soft baby yarn in light brown (approximately 250-300 yards)
  • Thick, fluffy yarn in cream (approximately 300-350 yards)
  • Size 8 mm (US 11) knitting needles or N/P (10 mm) crochet hook
  • Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Gauge

For knitting: 10 stitches x 14 rows = 4 inches in garter stitch. For crochet: 8 stitches x 9 rows = 4 inches in double crochet.

  • p: purl
  • dc: double crochet
  • ch: chain
  • st: stitch
  • yo: yarn over
  • RS: right side
  • WS: wrong side

Instructions

Knitting Instructions

  1. Cast on 40 stitches using light brown yarn.
  2. Work in garter stitch (knit every row) until the piece measures 30 inches in length.
  3. Change to cream yarn and knit another 10 rows for the border.
  4. Bind off all stitches loosely.
  5. Weave in all ends using the tapestry needle.

Crochet Instructions

Finishing
