Cozy Cable Knit Scarf Pattern
Materials
- Worsted weight yarn, 300g in purple and 200g in red
- U.S. Size 8 (5.0 mm) knitting needles
- Cable needle
- Tapestry needle
Gauge
20 stitches x 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch.
Abbreviations
- CO: Cast On
- K: Knit
- P: Purl
- C4F: Slip next 2 stitches to cable needle and hold in front, knit 2, then knit 2 from cable needle
- BO: Bind Off
Instructions
With purple yarn:
- CO 40 stitches.
- Row 1 (RS): *K4, P4; repeat from * to end.
- Row 2 (WS): *P4, K4; repeat from * to end.
- Continue in pattern for 20 rows.
- Next Row: *C4F, P4; repeat from * to end.
- Next Row: *P4, K4; repeat from * to end.
- Repeat last two rows until piece measures 60 inches (or desired length).
Switch to red yarn:
- Repeat Rows 1-6 until red section measures 12 inches.
- BO all stitches loosely.
Finishing
Weave in all ends using the tapestry needle. Block the scarf to open up the cables and enhance the texture.
