Materials

• Cotton yarn in three colors: pink, white, and orange
• Crochet hook size H/8 (5 mm)
• Scissors

Gauge

10 dc and 5 rows = 4 inches in double crochet (dc)

Abbreviations

• ch - chain
• dc - double crochet
• sc - single crochet
• sl st - slip stitch

Instructions

Center Square

1. With pink yarn, ch 6 and join with a sl st to form a ring.
2. Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 15 dc into ring, join with sl st to top of ch-3. (16 dc)
3. Round 2: Ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in each st around, join with sl st. (32 dc)

White Border

4. Join white yarn in any dc.
5. Round 3: Ch 3, dc in same st, ch 2, skip 2 sts, *(2 dc, ch 2) in next st, skip 2 sts; repeat from * around, join.
6. Round 4: Sl st into next ch-2 space, ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same space, ch 1, *(2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next ch-2 space, ch 1; repeat from * around, join.

Orange Border

7. Join orange yarn in any ch space.
8. Round 5: Ch 3, dc in each st and ch-1 space around, working (dc, ch 2, dc) in each ch-2 space.
9. Round 6: Repeat Round 5.

Finishing

10. Fasten off and weave in all ends using a tapestry needle.
